Vacation Bible Bible School 2007
June 18-22, 2007
What a wonderful, fun-filled, loving and exciting time this week of Avalanche
Ranch has been for all the participants and
leaders! God has
certainly been in our midst as we have shared and learned
that God is Real, God is With Us, God is Strong, God is Awesome and God is in
Charge!
We have made new friends. We have fellowshipped with old friends. We have prayed. We have worshipped. We have sung some fantastic songs. We have played. We have snacked. All of a sudden and all too soon, we are at the end of the week.
An enormous and heartfelt "Thank You" goes to our newest heroes, Gina Warren and her planning team. The months of hard work and love as they prepared for Avalanche Ranch have given each of us a wonderful time together.
The leaders all pulled in one direction and for that reason, the children of God have been blessed.
It
is heart-warming to see those smiling and angelic faces as they sing "You are my
All in All", "This is the Day", "Were You
There?", and all the other songs that Mrs. Edwards shared with them. You
know
they must have enjoyed the singing. Several of them have been
witnessed just walking the halls and singing these tunes.
Whatever your role in support of Vacation Bible School 2007 at First
Presbyterian Church with Divine Street United Methodist Church, we say
thank you. It would not have
been possible to touch so many hearts young and old had each of you not played a
part in the preparation, planning and
implementation of Avalanche Ranch.
We will all remember that:
God is Real - “The Lord is the only true God” (Jeremiah 10:10)
God is with Us - “For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9)
God is Strong - “The Lord is my strength” (Psalm 118:14)
God is Awesome - “For the Lord Most High is awesome” (Psalm 47:2)
God is In Charge - “If you love me, obey my commandments” (John 14:15)
So there you have it. Another Vacation Bible School is part
of the history of our churches. The memories
may fade with time, but God will not forget the wonderful time
we all shared as we praised his glorious name.
Finally, a big nod of the head, an even bigger handshake and an enormous hug to all of those that visited with us during this time of praise, worship and learning. Please don't wait until next summer to come share your presence with us again. We have something going on every week of the year. Our lives would be much more blessed and fulfilled with you in our midst.
"God be with you 'til we meet again. By His counsels guide, uphold you, with His sheep securely fold you: God be with you 'til we meet again."
